Ice Climbing 2014

One cold winter in 2014, a group of four decided to try ice climbing for the first time. Hailing from majestic Terrace, B.C; Kurt, Evan, Enrico and Matthias threw on the crampons, grabbed ice picks and stepped into the extreme.  Thanks Matthias!!

Run From the Top

Run from the top

Koldsmoke’s only run from the top of the 2013 Velocity Challenge Speed skiing course at Sun Peaks Resort last Sunday.  Howling wind, challengeing weather and lots of snow made the speeds slow this year but non the less two World Cup races went ahead, and one run for all the atheletes from the top on the last day for the Velocity top speed, Klaus Schrottshammer 173kph and change.

Crescent Spur Heli-skiing Tour 4 ski vid put together by the guides.  Great edit considering they were also working at the time.  Must have been a lot of long nights editing the footage.  Especially like the tree skiing footage-great camera work, as well as skiing the same terrain as the model!

Wengen 2013 – Johan Clarey Downhill – Highest speed in Alpine Ski history : 161,9 km/h

Wengen Jump Johan Clarey

There is an English version but it isn’t as enthusiastic as the French announcers!!  Johan Clarey smashes the downhill speed record, but doesn’t win the race.  His body language at the finish says it all, he definitely didn’t hold anything back.  100mph and didn’t miss a gate, well done!

01/19/13 Wengen Lauberhorn

1. INNERHOFER Christof (ITA) 2:29.82

2. KROELL Klaus (AUT) 2:30.12
3. REICHELT Hannes (AUT) 2:30.58
4. GUAY Erik (CAN) 2:30.97
5. CLAREY Johan (FRA) 2:30.99

Thanks Pedro!

Real Skifi Episode 8

One of the most original and fun looking urban jib sessions Koldsmoke has seen.  Even has a slight storyline, albeit goofy.  Well edited and isn’t just an endless sessioning of the same rail over and over again.  Long winter in Finland?  No problemo.

Fawcett Boards

fawcettBoards tribute_164

Fawcett Boards, surf the snow!  The offerings from Fawcett boards do one thing…ride the powder like no other board.  Reverse side cut, wood core, and sweet graphics.  The website says they are made in Alberta Canada by a…skateboard manufacturer.  Beautiful.

The tribut 164 is also available as a split board.  Yes!
